Living in Grand Haven is just that, “Grand”! It is one of the most affordable, exclusive gated communities, comprised of several different villages, on the East Coast of Florida. Besides the privacy, security, and beautiful lush landscaping of this development, the amenities that are available to its residents are extensive. One never has to leave Grand Haven if they choose not to (other than to go grocery shopping). Situated between Daytona and St. Augustine, Grand Haven, Palm Coast is a residential community among trail and recreation facilities, and the Flagler Beaches: Beverly Beach, Bunnell, Flagler Beach, The Hammock, and Marineland.
And, what’s unique about Grand Haven is that it offers an extensive walking/biking path along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the live oak hammocks, which leads residents to a nature preserve. People here are very friendly and respectful of your time when you’re on a walk. Other amenities include a signature Jack Nicklaus course and clubhouse on the Intracoastal Waterway, tennis courts, two croquet courts (all members are members of the United States Croquet Association (USCA), bocce court, shuffleboard, soccer field, two community recreation centers with pools, spas, gyms, cafes and numerous indoor and outdoor activities. In addition, there are many clubs within Grand Haven: women’s club, book clubs, fishing, poker, cards, bingo, bunco, dance, just to name a few. Oh, on Sunday mornings, there is even a motorcycle group that you can ride with for the day. So, what are you waiting for?
One of the REALTORS, Gail Moro, in our office wrote the following:
A typical day is waking up, having our cappuccinos’ while gazing out our breakfast nook window waiting for the sun to rise over the Intracoastal, checking out the tides, and watching one of neighbors kayak by our house.
Then, it’s on with the shorts and sneakers, out the door, to take a 4-mile walk with a neighbor along the Intracoastal and live oak trees. Occasionally, we see dolphins, manatees, herons, egrets, and twice in the past three years, we’ve seen an alligator swimming in the middle of the Intracoastal. It is so easy to meet people when walking in Grand Haven. Actually, I’ve met their dogs first before meeting them. People here are very friendly and respectful of your time when you’re on a walk. (In “Wild Oaks”, there is a doggie park AND a couple of eagles reside in one of its tall trees. They come back every year and mate. So, if you bring your binoculars, you’re sure to get a good view of them). Also, on our walks, we’ll see neighbors playing golf, tennis, or croquet. Throughout the day, you’ll see people (and children) walking or riding bikes. We’re not golfers or tennis players, but we enjoy the gym, water aeorbics, swimming, relaxing in the spa, playing bocce, and occasionally dining at the Village Center with neighbors, and meeting new people.
This is the best place we have ever lived and it is like “heaven” to us. Besides having THE BEST neighbors and great friends, we love our home. Our home has an open floor plan so when you enter through the front door, one can see through our home, beyond the screened-in pool and slightly sloped lawn and the tall live oaks (which creates a canopy over our lawn) down to the Intracoastal. But what’s so special about this view is between 4-7p.m. when the sun is going down, its’ rays accent these beautiful live oaks and, to us, they just come alive, especially if it’s windy, they appear to be dancing. Appreciating this site and dining outside on our lanai watching the boats, kayakers, water-skiers pass by, well…this is heaven to us. You, too, can find your ideal home and live the lifestyle you want to enjoy.
